Use Acupressure Points for PMS
Once a month, women suffer through the agony of PMS, which causes pain, irritability and bloating. But these symptoms can be relieved without the use of medication through an eastern medicinal procedure. Acupressure applied to the correct pressure points can relieve the symptoms of PMS, and it's a procedure you can do yourself. But you have to find those pressure points to feel relief.
Instructions
1. Find headache relief by finding the pressure point near your neck. Move your finger from your shoulder towards your neck until you reach a depression. Apply pressure in the area that is most tender. This point is also used to treat neck pain, shoulder tension, dizziness and stress.
2. Relieve bloating by sliding your finger up the middle of your abdomen. Stop about one inch below your belly button and apply pressure. This point is also good for treating edema and fatigue.
3. Feel relief from menstrual cramps through a pressure point on your foot. Slide your finger in the depression that you'll feel between your big toe and your second toe. When you feel the tendons meet, apply pressure. Not only does this relieve cramps, but it also relieves irritability, anger, stress, headaches and anxiety.
4. Boost your energy levels through acupressure with the right pressure points. From your pubic bone, slide your finger up your abdomen. About two inches above your pubic bone, you should feel a depression. This treats general fatigue, weakness and diarrhea. Another energy boosting point is located on your ankle. Find the depression that is located about four fingers width above your ankle. This can also treat stress and insomnia.
5. Massage one or more of these points for three to five minutes, or until you find relief. You can also pick certain points to treat depending on the severity of your PMS symptoms. For the best results, apply pressure with the tip of your finger, your knuckle or the eraser end of a pencil.
