Symptoms Of Bronchitis In Adults

Bronchitis is essentially the irritation and inflammation of the bronchial tubes. This sort of condition will usually arise after a bout with some sort of respiratory infection. More often than not, someone suffering from bronchitis will get over the condition within a few days, yet will experience a few fairly uncomfortable symptoms before complete recovery.


Productive Cough


The main symptom of bronchitis will involve something often referred to as a productive cough. This type of cough will have the distinct characteristic of producing some sort of mucus green or yellow in color.


Sore Throat


A person with bronchitis will usually suffer from a sore throat. This is due to the cough that has irritated and inflamed the bronchial tubes.


Fever


Many people will continue to experience the mild fever they had during their respiratory infection during bronchitis. A person will generally run about the same temperature throughout both conditions.


Shortness of Breath


Another common symptom of bronchitis in an adult is shortness of breath. This may be accompanied by wheezing or just a winded feeling.


Fatigue


Most people who are suffering from bronchitis will also begin or continue to feel somewhat fatigued. This is due to the body trying to fight off the illness, making a person feel rundown and tired.


Congestion








Someone suffering from bronchitis will also experience the symptom of congestion. This will usually be isolated to the chest and may bring with it a burning sensation.
