Perform A Body Cleanse & Detox

Doing a body cleanse and detox is something that can be done on a regular basis, as some people do (often between the seasons) or as way to jump start a diet. People who notice skin rashes, difficulty sleeping, difficulty concentrating or have become disenchanted with all the junk food they've been eating, may turn to a body cleanse and detox to turn over a new leaf. There are many ways to do a body cleanse, but all will require patience and a medical clearance if you have any serious health issues.


Instructions


1. Clean out your kitchen of all tempting junk foods that will be impossible to resist while you are on directed body cleanse.


Restock your shelves and cupboards with dried whole grains such as brown rice, oats, barley, quinoa, millet or dried soup mixes made without any salt or preservatives.


2. Brew a small pot of detox tea, which is a particular brand of tea that includes many herbs used traditionally for body cleansing. You could also choose another brand of detox tea or choose teas such as red clover, yellow dock root or sarsaparilla. Consume no more than the maximum dosage as recommended by each tea manufacturer.


3. Start each day with a half of an organic lemon squeezed into hot water. Drink this simple tea every morning to move the bowels. Sip your detox teas between your meals.


4. Avoid eating any highly processed foods or any fried foods, caffeine or very heavy foods. Drink plenty of filtered water between your meals.








5. Eat only fresh vegetables, lightly steamed and cooked whole grains. This could mean oatmeal with banana slices for breakfast, green salad with steamed broccoli and brown rice for lunch and steamed spaghetti squash, garlic and mixed vegetables and quinoa for dinner. The idea is to eat only whole foods that are easily digested. These are also high in fiber and will not be difficult to process. As you continue with your detox, you'll notice that soon your taste buds may sharpen up and you no longer reach for sweeteners or table salt for your meals. By eating this way, you maintain optimal nutrition while you continue to detox and cleanse.
