Create Homemade Massage Oils

Make your own massage oil instead of using commercial ones.

Save yourself money and make your own homemade massage oil instead of purchasing commercially manufactured oils. Using fresh ingredients, you can make massage oils that suit your specific needs. You can make a massage oil for relaxation, or you can make one designed to promote sensuality. Once you make your own homemade massage oil, you can store it for long-term use in an airtight glass container in a dark location away from sunlight.

Instructions

1. Select a carrier oil for the massage oil. Sweet almond oil works well for facial treatments and full body massages. Choose wheat germ or rose hip oil to nourish and soften the skin. Many carrier oils exist, and you will need to research to ensure that you use the right oils for the type of massage that will be used.

2. Pour six teaspoons of the carrier oil into a dark, airtight container to protect the oil from the effects of air and sunlight.

3. Add eight drops of your preferred essential oils to the bottle. You can mix essential oils, or use only one type if you prefer. Common essential oils include lavender, rosemary, jasmine and grape seed.

4. Screw the lid onto the glass bottle. Shake the glass bottle to mix the oils.

5. Store the massage oils in a dark environment.
