Use Mouthwash To Prevent Cavities

No single facet of a personal dental care regimen offers the protection your teeth and gums need from bacteria and debris that gather in your mouth. Yet, when you choose to routinely floss and brush your teeth and use an therapeutic oral rinse, your chances of maintaining good dental health dramatically improve. When you use mouthwash as part of a dental care program, choose the right formula and use it correctly.

Instructions

1. Brush your teeth with a toothpaste recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA) and floss between your teeth with dental floss to remove any chunks of food that may be lodged there.

2. Pour the manufacturer's recommended amount of fluoride mouthwash into the product's lid and drink it into your mouth, but don't swallow.

3. Keep your lips tightly closed, and swish the mouthwash around in your mouth for at least 30 seconds, or the amount of time recommended on the product's label.

4. Expel the mouthwash into a sink. Do not eat, drink or smoke for at least 30 minutes after using the mouthwash for the most benefit.
