Remove Peridex Stains

Peridex is a prescription mouth rinse used to treat gingivitis and other inflammations of the gums. It works by killing unwanted mouth bacteria that can contribute to swollen and bleeding gums. Although it works in improving the overall health of your mouth and gums, one significant side effect is the staining of your teeth. Peridex stains are dark brown in color and can often be treated by your dentist. However, the whitening treatments offered by your dentist are usually considered cosmetic in nature so most insurance companies will not pay for the procedure.

Instructions

1. Use the toothpaste and electric toothbrush to brush your teeth three times a day. Pay particular attention to the darkest stains; brush for a full five minutes.

2. Do this for two weeks. Assess the stains to determine if they are disappearing or fading.

3. If you are not satisfied with the results, call your dentist. She can call in a prescription for Supersmile Toothpaste, which will remove Peridex stains. Unlike whitening procedures, most insurances will help with the cost of Supersmile Toothpaste.

4. Continue to brush three times a day once the stains are gone to ensure your teeth do not stain again.
