Sit Properly In An Office Chair

Sit Properly in an Office Chair

Sitting properly in your office chair goes a long way toward having a healthy and productive office environment. You don't need to sit rigidly in your chair all the time, just ensure that your chair is properly adjusted and that all of your most frequently used workspace elements are within easy reach.

Instructions

1. Adjust the height of your office chair. You should be able to sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent at a right angle.

2. Sit as closely to your desk as you comfortably can. If you need to remove the arms from your chair to achieve this, then do so.

3. Rest your arms on your desk. Your arms should rest lightly on the desk without bending out too much. If your desk is too high to do this comfortably, get an adjustable-height footrest.

4. Lean back in your chair and feel the lower back support. If you cannot feel it, adjust the back of your chair until you feel the lower part supporting your back.

5. Position all of your most frequently used workspace elements within easy reach. You should not have to bend or twist to reach anything.
