Reduce Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

Many women experience extreme heavy menstrual bleeding, called Menorrhagia. Menorrhagia is caused by hormonal imbalances or uterine fibroids and can be treated with medical care.

Signs of Menorrhagia include:

Menstrual flow that soaks through one or more sanitary pads or tampons every hour for several consecutive hours

The need to use double sanitary protection to control your menstrual flow

The need to change sanitary protection during the night

Menstrual period that lasts longer than seven days

Menstrual flow that includes large blood clots

Heavy menstrual flow that interferes with your regular lifestyle

Constant pain in your lower abdomen during menstrual period

Irregular menstrual periods

Tiredness, fatigue or shortness of breath (symptoms of anemia)

Instructions

1. Seek Medical Attention immediately. The doctor will be able to examine you and offer solutions to solving the problem. Keeping a log of how many pads/tampons you go through per hour or per day will help your doctor determine the blood flow. Be sure to record the strength of the pad or tampon (regular, super, super plus, etc.)

2. In the meantime, take ibuprofen to help reduce blood flow.

3. Get plenty of rest
