Get Your Virility Back

Age does not have to mean a decline in virility.

Many different physical, mental and emotional problems can cause a loss in virility. By the same token, by addressing your physical, mental and emotional well-being you can rebuild sexual stamina and energy. Virility is not just something that magically disappears and can never be reclaimed. By taking care of yourself properly and trying to address the root causes that might have decreased your virility in the first place, you can regain control of your sexual health.

Instructions

1. Exercise regularly. Begin a program that includes strength training with weights or body-weight exercises. Run, swim or bike to increase stamina. Enroll in a program like yoga or t'ai-chi to improve flexibility and blood flow throughout the body.

2. Eat a healthy diet. If you are overweight, aim for weight loss through your diet. Even if you are not, avoid saturated fats and refined flours and sugars.

3. Include nuts in your diet. Both walnuts and almonds have specifically been shown to have virility enhancing effects. Dr. Barbara Bartlick, a sex therapist from Weill Cornell Medical center, states that the L-Arginine in walnuts increases blood flow which helps with erections. A study by L. Tomas-Cobos et al. from the Ainia Technological Centre states that almonds are also high in Arginine, which has the added benefit of boosting the overall strength of the immune system.

4. Speak to your doctor and get a full physical. Unresolved or undiagnosed medical issues, such as high blood pressure or diabetes can have an effect on the libido.

5. Diminish the stress in your life. Reduce your hours at work or find a hobby that relaxes and centers you. Stress and tension are causes of distress in the sex life of some men.
