Use Dandelion To Treat Hemorrhoids

Use Dandelion to Treat Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are a common condition that will affect most people at some point in their lives. Characterized by an inflammation of the veins of the rectum and anus, they can be very uncomfortable. One way to treat hemorrhoids naturally is with dandelion.

Instructions

1. Get checked out by a doctor. While hemorrhoids are quite common and usually benign, they share symptoms with other serious conditions including rectal cancer, anal fissures, abscesses and fistulas. It's important to have a doctor examine you to rule out these conditions before deciding to treat the hemorrhoids naturally.

2. Drink dandelion tea in the morning and in the afternoon to treat constipation. Constipation is a common cause of hemorrhoids due to the excessive straining of the bowels that often accompanies it. Dandelion is a natural laxative that will help relieve the constipation and prevent the need for hemorrhoid-causing straining.

3. Use a dandelion tincture to treat hypertension. High blood pressure is one of the causes of hemorrhoids. Dandelion is a natural diuretic that helps with fluid retention, a common contributor to high blood pressure.

4. Add dandelion leaves to your diet to maintain digestive health. Dandelion leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. An easy way to incorporate them into your cooking is chopped up in vegetable soup.

5. Treat your hemorrhoids by making a dandelion tonic wine. Soak about 1 cup of dandelion flowers in white wine for 2 weeks in an airtight container. Strain the dandelions, sweeten to taste with sugar or honey and serve chilled. Use a white wine with a citrus flavor to counteract the bitter taste of the dandelion.
