Detect Diabetes

With millions of Americans living with undiagnosed diabetes, it's important to know detect this condition. When left untreated, diabetes can result in serious health concerns. And individuals with a family history should be especially diligent about detection since they are at higher risk.

1. Evaluate your thirst patterns. One of the most noticed symptoms of diabetes is increased thirst. It may not happen overnight, so evaluate if your thirst has increased over the course of several months.


2. You become hungry more often. Individuals with diabetes report increased hunger with onset of the condition. Keep a log of your eating to notice if you appear hungry more often.








3. You notice an increase in urination. If you start urinating more often you should make an appointment with your doctor. Although this can be symptomatic of many conditions, it's particularly common with diabetes patients.


4. You have episodes of blurred vision. These episodes should be reported to your doctor immediately. Not only is this a symptom of diabetes, it can be a health hazard while driving or doing other activities.


5. Make an appointment with your doctor. Diabetes is a condition that requires ongoing medical treatment. Make an appointment with your doctor for testing.
