Use Bath Water To Water Plants

Water is necessary for plants to go through photosynthesis. Without the water, plants cannot make their own food. If your area begins to experience a drought and you are ordered to conserve water, your plants do not need to suffer. They will thrive on your leftover water such as the water that is found in your bathtub when you have finished taking a bath. This is also an excellent way to recycle the water that your family is using.

Instructions

1. Fill your bathtub up with water and take a bath. Use as much water as you normally do to take a bath.

2. Keep the bathtub plugged while you climb out and get dressed. If you unplug the tub, you will lose all of the water that could be used outside to water your plants.

3. Wait until the bathwater has cooled. This may take half an hour to one hour. You don't want to shock your plants by dousing them with hot water.

4. Place the bathwater in buckets and carry out to your garden. You can do this by scooping the water out with one bucket, and pouring it into a second bucket. This way you are not dripping water through the house. Otherwise, use a towel to dry the bucket before carrying it through the house.

5. Pour the bathwater on your plants. If the bucket is too hard to use, you can pour the water into a water can, then use a watering can to water your plants. The watering can would also be ideal to use on indoor plants.

6. Repeat when the soil starts to feel dry.
