Treat Baby'S Eczema With Natural Products

Baby eczema is a common skin rash which usually starts on a baby's face or scalp but can quickly spread to his chest, arms, legs and other body parts. Although it's not contagious, it is uncomfortable. In addition to the many commercial products available, there are natural products which you can use to treat this condition.

Instructions

1. Give baby an oatmeal bath to soothe the itching caused by eczema. You can make your own oatmeal bath by using a food processor or coffee grinder to make a powder out of a couple of cups of oatmeal. Add the mixture to baby's bath water as you run it and soak her in it for up to 15 minutes.

2. Mix besan flour with milk to bathe baby with instead of soap to treat baby's eczema. If your supermarket doesn't carry besan flour, a chickpea product, try your nearest health food store, Asian market or order it over the internet. Always use lukewarm bath water and use the bath towel to pat, not rub, your baby dry.

3. Soak baby's new clothes in a paste made from baking soda and water to remove chemical residue often found in new clothes. This residue can be extremely irritating to baby's sensitive skin. After soaking, be sure to wash clothes in hot water before putting them on your baby.

4. Make a natural beeswax petroleum jelly to treat your baby's eczema. This will not only soothe baby's irritation but will keep natural moisture close to the skin. Simply melt beeswax in the microwave, add baby oil, stir well and allow to cool. When thickened apply to baby's eczema.
