Driving your Mazda 6 with a broken signal light increases your chance of having an accident on the road, especially one that's your fault. Fortunately, replacing your Mazda's signal lights is quick and easy, as long as you have the correct replacement bulb in hand. You won't need any tools for the job, either, so there's no reason you can't replace the bulb yourself.
Instructions
1. Turn off the car's engine, activate the parking brake and take the keys out of the ignition before starting.
2. Loosen the hood using the release latch beneath the instrument panel. Then, pull the auxiliary release latch beneath the center of the hood to lift it open.
3. Find the turn signal bulb socket next to the back of the headlamp assembly. Turn the socket counterclockwise to remove it from its holder.
4. Press the broken bulb into the socket and turn it counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. Then, twist the new bulb into place.
5. Test the new bulb to make sure it works before closing the hood.
Tips Warnings
Handle the signal bulbs with care. They can easily pop, shatter or crack if dropped.
Dispose of the old bulb immediately to prevent it from becoming a hazard.
Don't handle the signal light socket without making sure your Mazda 6's engine is turned off.
