Serve A Leaner Steak

Who doesn't love a good steak? Unfortunately, many people choose not to indulge in this dish because they're worried about the fat content. Thankfully, it's extremely easy to serve a leaner steak. With just a few simple steps, you'll be able to enjoy a steak dinner that you won't have to feel guilty about.

Instructions

1. Choose a steak that isn't heavily marbled. For example, a cut such as a rib eye, is heavily marbled. All those tiny white lines throughout the meat is fat. Instead, you want a piece of meat that looks extremely lean. A great example of this is sirloin steak.

2. Trim off excess fat. Even lean cuts, such as sirloin, will have a layer of fat on the outside of the steak. By trimming off excess fat, you help ensure that your steak is as lean as possible.

3. Cook your steak under the broiler or on the grill. Both of these options allow any leftover fat to drip away from the meat. If you fry your steak in a skillet, it simply sits in the fat. This prevents you from serving the leanest steak possible.
