Problems Caused By Hormone Imbalance

Hormones are a type of chemical within the body synthesized to communicate between tissues and to regulate various processes. When the levels of different hormones become imbalanced, diverse changes in the body may occur. These changes can be especially prominent in women, who have multiple hormonal cycles affecting different parts of their body.

Reproductive Tissues

Hormonal imbalances can cause endometriosis, uterine fibroids and fibrocystic breasts.

Psychological Effects

Hormonal imbalances can also cause depression and anxiety, as well as feeling of fatigue.

Hair

Hormonal imbalances can cause some portions of the body to lose hair, and can also promote the growth of hair on the face.

Musculoskeletal Changes

Hormonal imbalances can cause osteoporosis, water retention and weight gain.

Neurological changes

People with hormonal imbalances may experience headaches, "foggy" thinking and dizziness.
