Avoid High Fat Foods To Prevent Acid Reflux

Acid reflux is not only uncomfortable, but it can also damage the lining of your esophagus. That's why it's essential to take steps to prevent flareups. One way you can do this is to avoid high fat foods. Thankfully there are a few steps that make this process very easy.

Instructions

1. Avoid fast food restaurants. Many of these restaurants claim to have healthier choices available, but there are two problems with this: The food may be high in fat; you may feel inclined to choose the unhealthier options.

2. Cook more meals at home. When you prepare meals at home, you control the ingredients. This allows you to keep your meals low fat. Even when you choose quick fix products from your grocery store, you'll know exactly how much fat is in your meal.

3. Look for alternative snacks. Many packaged snacks are high in fat. Thankfully, many companies are now offering low-fat or fat-free versions of their most popular products. Don't forget, fruits and vegetables are naturally low-fat.
