Quick Acne Cure

Acne can affect anyone of any race, age or skin type. Not all over-the-counter and prescription treatments work to clear up acne effectively. Home remedies can be very effective in treating acne and they are sometimes safer to use and gentler on the skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a very effective treatment for acne. Dab organic apple cider vinegar directly on your face two to three times a day to help clear up acne. One interesting trick for getting rid of redness from the skin is to take two Advil (anti-inflammatory) and then apply Visine drops to your face. Applying ice to the reddened areas will also help to reduce inflammation and swelling.

Mix 1 tbsp. cornstarch with 1 to 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar or white vinegar and rub over blackheads. Allow the mixture to harden, allowing to sit for 15 to 30 minutes. Wash the mixture off with warm water, using a washcloth. This will help to draw out the bacteria and to clear pores.

Milk of Magnesia or Egg Whites

Milk whites are another great cure for acne. Dab egg whites on your pimples to draw out impurities from the skin. You can also spread a thin layer of milk of magnesia over your face. Allow it to dry and then wipe it off with a warm, damp washcloth. Milk of magnesia makes for an inexpensive face mask.

Put 2 cups of water in a pot on the stove. Add three to four drops each of peppermint oil and lavender oil to the water. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Drape a towel over your head and hold your face over the steam. This type of herbal mask will help soften your skin and refresh your face.

Oatmeal

Cook up a batch of oatmeal. Allow the oatmeal to cool in the refrigerator and rub on your face. Mix in a little bit of honey if you want to when you're cooking the oatmeal. Allow the mixture to sit on your face for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and then splash cool water on your face. Gently pat your face dry with a clean, dry towel.

Finally, to heal acne quickly, mix 1/2 cup of ice cold milk with 1 to 2 tsp. ground nutmeg and apply to the affected areas before bed. Allow mixture to sit all night and then rinse off with warm water in the morning as part of your regular routine.
