Clean Your Rose Quartz

Sample of rose quartz shaped like a heart.

Rose quartz is a pink-tinted quartz that is often used in jewelry. The pink color is a result of impurities in the chemical composition of the quartz. The stone can be found in many shapes and sizes. It can be tumbled into a smooth round stone or cut into facets to create different shapes. Rose quartz is fairly rare and more valuable than the standard clear quartz. It has been found all over the world, but Brazil has become the largest supplier.

Instructions

1. Brush off dust or dirt that has accumulated on the stone.

2. Fill a bowl or sink basin with warm water and add soap. Place the rose quartz gently in the water. Do not drop it, as it can easily chip.

3. Wash the stone with a soft brush. An old toothbrush works well. Gently scrub all sides of the stone until clean.

4. Rinse the soap off the stone and pat dry with a soft cloth or towel. Do not sit the rose quartz in the sun to dry.

5. Store your rose quartz in a fabric-lined jewelry box and keep it separate from other stones.
