Treat Excessive Urination

The medical term for excessive urination is polyuria. A person has polyuria when they urinate in large amounts throughout the day. There can be several causes for this disease such as drinking too much water, taking in too much salt, diabetes, kidney failure, and sickle cell anemia. Only your doctor can determine if the cause is a disease. In the meantime there are steps you can take that are proactive and will help you treat this disease.

Instructions

1. Get an imaging test. This test injects a dye in to your body. Your urine will increase and medical professionals will probably have you collect it for a period of 24 hours. This can confirm if there are any underlying causes for your excessive urination, so you will know better treat it.

2. Keep a daily journal. Keep track daily of how much you drink, how much you urinate, and how much you weigh. This diary will give the physicians the information they need to choose the right treatments for you. Make sure you take notes as to what color your urine is and if there is any blood in the urine.

3. Take medications such as Enablex. This drug treats an overactive bladder, so that you can don't have to go to the bathroom so frequently.

4. If you have excessive urination that is leading to incontinence you will want to practice kegel exercises. This exercise contract your muscles and makes them stronger. You can also use adult pads or diapers in your underwear to protect you from embarrassing leaks.

5. Consult an herbalist. There are many ingredients in nature that can help with excessive urination. Herbalists are trained to know which ones you should try and at what doses. These herbs won't harm you or give you side effects like medicine does. They are safe and also usually promote health in other parts of your body as well.
