Herbal Remedies For Panic Disorder

People suffering from extreme anxiety or panic disorders--including agoraphobia and panic attack--can benefit from many of the various herbal remedies that are available. Although it is always a good idea to first check with your doctor, many of these herbal remedies can improve and relieve anxiety and panic disorders.

Bach Flower Remedies

Bach flower remedies can be found at any health-food store or natural-foods market. They can be taken straight or mixed into juice.

Kava Kava

The extract of Kava Kava root has an extremely powerful anti-anxiety effect. Kava Kava should only be taken in the short term, as prolonged exposure is known to be harmful. Check with your doctor.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea has a sedative effect, and when combined with Kava Kava, can relieve a sudden panic episode.

Valerian Root

The extract of Valerian root has a sedative effect, but it should only be taken in the short term.

Warning

It is a good idea to consult a trained naturpath before trying any remedies. Some herbal remedies can interfere with medications, and should be monitored due to their toxicity.
