Lose Weight Fast With The Lap Band Postop Diet

If you're unable to access the Lap-Band surgery you need, you can still lose weight following the lap-band diet. It won't be easy, but you'll lose pounds fast, just as though you'd had the operation.

Instructions

1. MEDICAL SUPERVISION

It is critically important that you consult a physician before attempting to follow a Lap Band post-op diet. Lap-band candidates receive thorough screening to ensure they can survive the operation AND the post-op diet. If you have already been selected as a healthy candidate by a gastric surgeon, talk to your surgeon.

Make sure your doctor recommends a vitamin and nutritional supplement. He may also wish to monitor your blood for deficiencies.

2. IDENTICAL RESULTS?

The Lap Band only restricts food consumption. Unlike more invasive weight loss surgeries (RNY, Duodenal Switch), it does not directly effect the metabolism or cause malabsorption. Self-restricting your consumption to post-op guidelines will have the same results.

3. HOW THE DIET LOOKS

The common post-op diet is broken down into phases. The first phase (1-2 days) consumption is restricted to sips of water and sucking ice. Your doctor will probably recommend you skip the first phase as it is designed to accommodate the healing process. The second phase (1-2 weeks) consumption is restricted to pureed, low calorie foods. There are 5 phases in total and the last phase is intended for lifelong post-op eating.
