What Personal Biorhythm Numbers Mean

Everyone has days when they feel like things just aren't going their way. If you pay a little more attention, you may discover that your "off" days may be a result of your energy level and emotions. Once you start to make the connection, you're well on your way to figuring out your personal biorhythm.

History of Biorhythms

People have been interested in biorhythms since the early 1900s, and psychologists conducted 23-, 28- and 33-day studies that monitored the central nervous system. Studies revealed that humans go through a period of mental instability that lasts for about 24 hours each time a major life change takes place. This explains why some people may feel unstable for a while after an illness or moving to a new city.

Calculate Biorhythms

The physical cycle is usually 23 days long and influences a person's ability to fight off disease, stabilize coordination and achieve physical well-being; the emotional cycle lasts for 28 days, and measures a person's creativity, mental health, and level of sensitivity. It takes 33 days for a person to become aware of his intellectual cycle. This process regulates a person's alertness, level of mental alertness and long- and short-term memory.

Determining Your Personal Rhythm

On your birthday, each of the cycles begins at a zero point and starts to increase positively. During the middle of the cycle, the mind and body will hit somewhat of a plateau, and the remainder of the cycle is in the negative phase. Keeping a biorhythm calendar will help you to gear up for days when you may not feel your best, and will give you a lot to look forward to when you're coming up on your most mentally balanced days.

Significance of Personal Biorhythms

Your personal biorhythms will also tell you when your good days are about to arrive; these are days when you'll have lot of energy and emotional balance. You'll have the ability to allow your creative talents to shine, and your planning skills will be heightened so that you can give your day more structure and direction.

Checking Your Rhythms Daily

Computer technology makes it possible for you to chart the biorhythms of everyone in the world; all you need to know is a person's date of birth. The biorhythm can accurately chart and forecast the changes that occur in a person's mind, body, and spirit, so when you get familiar with your rhythms, you'll be able to prepare for your 'bad' days and can ward off negative feelings with a little more ease.

Finding Your Personal Biorhythm

In order to determine what your specific numbers mean, start by using all the digits in your birth date and year. Determine how many days have passed from your birthday until today by multiplying 365 by the number of years that are between your birth year and the present year. Add the answer to the number of months between your birth month and the current month. When you convert this answer to 'days,' you can create your biorhythm based on what you want to know about yourself physically or emotionally by dividing by the numbers 23, 28 or 33.
