Treat Your Toothache With Homemade Cures

A toothache seems to happen at the worst possible times, either when your dentist office is closed or when you can’t get an appointment for several days. Luckily there are a few homemade treatments that, while they won’t permanently cure the toothache, they will make it bearable until you can get to the dentist’s office.

Instructions

1. Drop a few drops of oil of cloves on the affected tooth. If this isn’t possible, saturate a cotton ball with oil of cloves and place against the sore tooth. Oil of cloves is available at some supermarkets and pharmacies and most health food stores.

2. Rinse your mouth with room temperature salt water. This helps to dislodge any food particles that may be stuck in the cavity and causing pain. If you can stand it, a gentle flossing can help also.

3. Allow an aspirin to dissolve on the affected tooth. Or, you can sprinkle an aspirin powder over the tooth. This will lessen the pain within minutes. It will taste terrible, but it will help.

4. Swish a shot glass full of whiskey around in your mouth for at least a minute. Your gums will absorb the alcohol, numbing the pain in the process. You can then swallow or spit out the whiskey.
