hotsprings spa , Model: Grandee
I have a Hotsprings Spa that came with the house I just moved into and was told by a local dealer (who does not service this brand or model) what needed to be done before my first use.....Drain, clean or replace filters, and add appropriate chemicals. I was able to drain and fill the tub but on power up now jet or pumps seem to be working. On the control panel an led is just flashing and I have no instructions or manual for this spa so I'm kind of stuck at the moment with 500 gallons of water just sitting there.... Any Ideas? I've e-mailed Hotsprings and no response. Radar Most likely it's the red light blinking. That means the heater got too hot. To reset the spa, simply turn off the power, wait a bit and then turn it back on. A half of a minute will do. But - to keep it from happening again, do this: After any refill - put the hose into the filter area to fill the spa. Once the spa is full, turn on only the 20 amp breaker, not the the 30. At that point you can run the jets and get to know your spa. After everything is working, and you can tell there is flow through the small circulating pump - very important! - then and only then turn on the 30 amp breaker. If you send me your serial number, I can tell you the approx date of manufacture and help you further. Chas Thank you for replying but the light is still blinking after being off for 5 min, 10 min and even over night. So there is no reset on this spa that could reset the power to the spa, only the breaker? There is 2 breakers 1 for the heat and 1 for the pumps. Which I didn't realize there was 2 and the pump breaker was still on! Could this of caused and damage? The small circulator pump seems to be running. Possible there is a air pocket @ one of the sensors not completing the circuit in some way? I will remember to fill the tub the next time in the filter compartment. My serial number is G451068. Any assistance or ideas? Thank You Radar_4 N Fond du Lac, WI If you go to the hot springs website and find a dealer near you, then you should be able to get a service repair man to come out. One thing I know about hot springs spas is that they are known by all to have the best service and warrenty in the industry. I wouldn't mees with it too much on your own because you could damage the spa and lose the warrenty. Ned RADAR-4 When you have the access door off to the spa is there a small brown magnet on the lower left hand side of the inside of the door? If so take any magnet and plce it on the corresponding brown switch on equipment floor. Reset breakers if light is still flashing there is a black metal box where the electrical hookups from pumps and heaters go. on the left hand side are two small red buttons the one to the front is the heater hilimit, and the one to the back is the spa hilimit. push them in one at a time. if the magnet is on the switch the red light should stop blinking,if notremove magnet from switch ,you should hear a relay clicking off. feel free to email me with any questions Tom Riley This hot tub from Hot springs has an analog control panel with 2 rotary dials 1 for lamp illumination and 1 for heat control. No magnet either only kind of reset is the 20amp breaker and the 30amp breaker. 20 for the pumps and the control system and 30 for the heaters. Paying TTM (Travel,TimeMaterials)for a service call might be my only route if I can't come up with some concrete conclusion. RADAR Just looked at the serial number again, and i had read it wrong . you have a 1995 model which should have a cartridge type heater with two grey wires going to the control box. the hilimit needs to be replaced(p/n 38416).Also when turning spa back on when you turn the heat up the circulation pump should go into a faster speed .
