Want to help the environment? One way to cut down on landfill use is to recycle everything you use, including ink cartridges. The most popular ink cartridge manufacturers like Canon, recycle their products through very consumer friendly programs. Canon's ink recycle program is actually conducted online through their website. It takes just a few minutes to get yourself ready for this simple eco-friendly project. As long as you have a Canon printer with cartridges you can participate right away.
Instructions
1. Log on to Canon's website at canon.com and browse to the Environmental Programs link on the left side bar menu. Then click Environment. You will be taken to the Canon Cartridge Return Program Web page.
2. Register at the site if you have not already done so. Click Register and then give your personal information including name, address and email, along with your contact information. Then log in to the site.
3. Look under the printer or along the side for the product's serial number. You must have this to participate in the program.
4. Enter the appropriate information into the website after you log in. This includes the printer serial number and your address. Choose the mail service you wish to use (UPS or US Mail). Then click Finished when you are done. A label will be generated for you by the website. Print this label.
5. Package your inks in an appropriately sized box. Attach the label and send it to Canon. The address will be printed on your label.
Tips Warnings
Many companies pay cash for ink cartridges online. This is an alternative to recycling them through Canon.
