Remove The Flow Restrictor In A Danze Handheld Showerhead

A Danze handheld showerhead offers a range of spray and massage options to enhance the shower experience. As a water conservation feature, mandated in many communities as part of green regulations, a small restrictor is installed that limits the water flow. The negligible water savings that result are often at the expense of the showerhead's proper functionality, and removing this restrictor can greatly improve the water pressure and restore the spray setting's effects.

Instructions

1. Remove the handheld showerhead from the showerhead holder bracket.

2. Detach the showerhead assembly from the flexible water supply tube by rotating its base counterclockwise. This fitting is often hand-tightened, but you may need to hold the water supply tube using adjustable pliers to loosen the connection nut.

3. Remove the flow restrictor from the showerhead. The flow restrictor is a small white vinyl disc with several holes that's inserted in the showerhead base. Pull it out using needle-nose pliers.

4. Reattach the showerhead. Thread the handheld showerhead's connection nut clockwise onto the water supply tube and hand-tighten until snug. Do not over-tighten and risk cracking the connection nut.

Tips Warnings

To ensure a good seal at the showerhead connection, wrap two continuous layers of vinyl thread tape clockwise around the threaded end of the water supply tube before replacing the showerhead assembly.
